President and Chief Responsible Officer
Community at the heart of everything
Our transformational communities provide a curated ecosystem of amenities and services that enhance lives and ensure the area will grow and thrive for generations to come. We are committed to promoting health and well-being, while reducing socioeconomic inequalities through our dedication to affordable housing solutions. We always invest with purpose, working tirelessly to maximize the value of each and every development.
Affordable rental units
We believe everybody should be able to live locally, with the right combination of affordable and market housing to meet the needs of society as a whole. In the West Don Lands, our modern condo developments include 1 in 4 affordable homes.
Built on financial success
Our impressive business acumen enables us to identify potential and form profitable partnerships. We are continually seeking out new opportunities to embark on innovative and inventive projects that can create positive change while providing consistent financial returns.
3.6 Billion
The sale of the Dream Global Real Estate Investment Trust to Blackstone was recognition of our ability to grow a portfolio and sell at maximum profit, after delivering consistent annual returns for unit holders.
Between August 2011 and its sale in 2019, DRG’s Dream Global REIT’s total return of 214% over an 8-year period significantly outperformed both Canadian and European REIT benchmarks.
We embrace new ideas
From pioneering healthcare initiatives, to career development programs and Indigenous daycare centres, we constantly seek inventive and sustainable ways to make our communities more integrated, inclusive and collaborative. We are dedicated to elevating the lives of the people who live and work there.

Canary Block 10 will be the first purpose-built Indigenous community hub in a North American city. The development will be comprised of a 206-unit condominium building, a 237-unit residential rental building, heritage retail space, a community health centre and a mixed-use commercial building that includes a training, education and employment centre, offices for Indigenous-owned businesses and a city daycare.
Building grand new visions
From a project’s infancy, right through to completion, we combine contemporary approaches to construction and architecture with creative financial planning, effective partnerships and a cohesive strategy. This allows us to create amenities, jobs and services that enrich people’s lives and deliver outstanding results.

Languages
Zibi is the Indigenous Algonquin Anishinabe word for river. This is an area that holds great importance to the First Nations people. They are an integral part of the Zibi community and we’ve made it a top priority to consult and engage with the Algonquin Anishinabe at every stage of the development process, creating a true partnership. This is why the signage in Zibi contains Algonquin as well as English and French languages.
